After teasing some big news for the past few weeks, celebrated rock outfit Alabama Shakes have announced a reunion tour for 2025. Singer / guitarist Brittany Howard, bassist Zac Cockrell, and guitarist Heath Fogg last performed together in 2017, as the tour in support of their massively successful sophomore album Sound and Color wound down. The run of dates begins in Chicago this July, and wraps up in Irving, TX this September, with a Philadelphia date Thursday September 18th at The Mann Center.

In a press release announcing the tour, Howard wrote “Last year, Heath, Zac, and I started chatting about how much fun it would be to make music together and tour again as Alabama Shakes. This band and these songs have been such a source of joy for all of us. It is crazy that it has been 10 years since we released Sound and Color and eight years since we played a show. But, we didn’t want this to entirely be a look back. We wanted it to be as much about the future as the past. So we have a bunch of new music that will be released soon. We just can’t wait to experience that ‘feeling’ when we start playing those first few notes of ‘Don’t Wanna Fight’ or ‘Gimme All Your Love.’”

Sounds exciting to us, and we’ll share that music here at XPN as soon as we can. In the meantime, tickets to Alabama Shakes Mann Center concert with The Budos Band go on sale Friday, February 14th at 10 a.m. Information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar; full tour dates can be found below.
