In what’s becoming an annual WXPN tradition, we’re ecstatic to announce Homegrown Originals Vol. 3, our all-Philly vinyl compilation for Record Store Day. This year, the comp includes some of Philly’s biggest artists and some of its most exciting new faces, recorded for The Key Studio Sessions, the Free At Noon concert series, XPoNential Music Festival, and World Cafe.
The album showcases pop and folk (Zinadelphia, Eliza Hardy Jones), indie rock and punk (Mannequin Pussy, Carly Cosgrove), rootsy rock and roll (Dr. Dog, Florry, Owen Stewart), and hip-hop and soul (Cadre Noir, Ron & The Hip Tones, Khalil Amaru). Once again, it’s a snapshot of a vibrant music community as only XPN can present it, and we’re excited to for you to hear it.
Homegrown Originals Vol. 3 is available as a free gift with purchase on Record Store Day — Saturday, April 12th, 2025 — at select independent record stores around the region. Most of last year’s participating stores will carry the record again, in addition to a handful of new stores in the Philly suburbs and New Jersey.
And there’s more! We’ll celebrate Homegrown Originals Vol. 3 at the next installment of WXPN’s Homegrown Live! free concert series on Wednesday, April 16th. Three artists appearing on the compilation — Cadre Noir, Eliza Hardy Jones, and dd Toby Leaman Trio of Dr. Dog — will perform live. Get more information and RSVP here.
