WXPN’s Artist to Watch for the month of May is indie singer-songwriter Gigi Perez. The Hackensack, New Jersey native, who lives and makes music in Miami, made her mark in late 2024 with “Sailor Song,” a breakout track that landed on NPR’s list of favorite live sessions.
On April 25, Perez released her self-produced debut, At the Beach, In Every Life, a ten-song album that moves from grief over her sister’s passing and childhood memories of Florida’s shores to struggles with faith and the thrill of new love.
She plays a sold-out show at the TLA on May 1, a sold-out WXPN Free at Noon set on May 2, and will open for Hozier’s U.S. tour kickoff at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion on June 10.
