Philly four-piece SOJI is a hardcore punk outfit that blends high-octane riffs and rhythms with catchy melodies, relentless charisma, and an outspoken lyrical approach. Active since 2023 with two EPs under their belt, the band makes fired-up songs tackling topics from racism and womanism to police brutality and capitalism, addressing bigger-picture themes like the historical impact of colonization on native populations, as well as very specific snapshots of housing inequality in present-day Philadelphia.
SOJI is made up of vocalist Jessa Jordan, drummer Adesola Ogunleye, guitarist Gary Crit, and bassist Abbey. This week, the band joins us for a Key Studio Session at WXPN Studios, offering a taste of the energy they’ll bring to the stage when they open for Catbite at the First Unitarian Church this Friday, May 30th.
