Joining us in the studio is a punk combo whose ferocious attitude is matched only by their melodic creativity. Hailing from Melbourne, CIVIC have quickly developed into a mainstay of the Australian music world. The band’s back-to-basics approach means they’re always ready to whip a crowd into a frenzy, but there’s more to CIVIC than mere pent-up energy.

For their latest album, Chrome Dipped, CIVIC teamed up with iconoclastic musician (and IRHP session veteran) Kirin J Callinan, who helped the band bring some of their more experimental tendencies to the forefront. Still brimming with propulsive fury, the new songs take frequent diversions into noisier, more abstract territories. While on an early summer tour of the States, vocalist Jim McCullough, guitarist Lewis Hodgson, bassist Roland Hlavka, and drummer Eli Sthapit stopped by our studios to perform an extended set of Chrome Dipped highlights.
