Watch Say She She make its late night debut with “Disco Life”
The WXPN Artist to Watch brought their stylish harmonies to Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
WXPN favorites Say She She return this fall with Cut & Rewind, their third studio LP, and as they ramp up to release day, they recently made their late night television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, performing the shimmering dancefloor number “Disco Life.”
Since playing XPoNential Music Festival in 2022, the retro pop trio of Piya Malik, Sabrina Mileo Cunningham, and Nya Gazelle Brown have been building their profile with appearances from Bonnaroo to Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, infusing cool grooves with social commentary.
Their previous single “Under the Sun” took a pro-labor stance in the wake of the Writers Guild strike, and “Disco Life,” for all its ear candy atmospheres, “takes direct aim at the homophobia, misogyny, and racism” in the “disco sucks” movement of the 80s. “Disco rules, actually, and that we, the people, have never quite moved on from those lush dancefloor sounds,” says the band in a press statement.
Cut & Rewind is out on October 3rd on the indie imprint drink sum wtr and can be pre-ordered here. The band is touring Europe and the UK through the end of the year; dates here. Watch Say She She perform “Disco Life” on Kimmel below.
