Listen to Thundercat’s first new music in two years
The L.A. bass virtuoso shares two songs ahead of his fall tour, including one collaboration with Remi Wolf.
We last heard from Thundercat back in 2023, when he released a collaborative single called “No More Lies” with Tame Impala; prior to that, his fourth studio LP It Is What It Is released in spring of 2020.
He’s been busy as a live performer and collaborator in the time since, but this week, the Los Angeles bass virtuoso is back with two new songs ahead of a fall tour. On one, “Children of the Baked Potato,” he pairs up with Remi Wolf, the indie pop force of nature that played a riveting set at this summer’s Make The World Better benefit. On the other, “I Wish I Didn’t Waste Your Time,” he leans more into the dreamlike progressive soul atmosphere that’s become his trademark.
Watch visualizers for both tracks below. Thundercat’s fall tour kicks off October 16th in Atlanta, and comes to Philadelphia on October 29th for a headlining appearance at Franklin Music Hall. Tickets and more information can be found at WXPN’s Concert Calendar.
