Every month, in partnership with our friends at KRVS in Lafayette, La., we present the Acadiana Music Showcase, a spotlight on the best of Southern Louisiana’s rich and diverse musical scene.

Today, a beloved Creole musician and a driving force in zydeco adds some brass to the mix. A multi-instrumentalist best known for his accordion playing, Jeffery Broussard’s been in the game for 50 years. He’s been a longtime staple of the zydeco scene with his band Zydeco Force and his more traditional zydeco outfit, The Creole Cowboys.

His latest experiment is with members of the TBC Brass Band and a New Orleans swing band’s rhythm section. They’re called Jeffery Broussard & The Nighttime Syndicate. Today, we’ve got performances from their debut album, Bayou Moonlight.
