Where They’re From: Philadelphia, PA

Who They Are: A singer-songwriter who began playing shows in West Philadelphia basements as a guitar and bass player at 15 yrs old. After multiple nationwide tours as a member of the psych boogie band Needle Points, Awan began releasing his own easy-to-love psychedelic-dripped music, that has hooks like The Monkees and heady expanses like NEU!, sometimes on the same song. He’s appeared on The Key Studio Sessions, Free at Noon, XPoNential Music Festival, and Unprecedented Sessions, and played a thrilling set at Sunflower Phily for one of the first big live shows in Philly after the pandemic lockdown of 2020-21.
