    Where They’re From:
    Muscle Shoals, Alabama

    Who They Are:
The ferociously talented singer Billy Allen first connected with “The Pollies” – his future bandmates – at the Muscles Shoals studio FAME, collaborating on a cover of Little Richard’s “Greenwood, MS.” Since then, the band has opened for Jason Isbell and released a few knockout tracks brimming with hard-rock energy and soulful passion. Allen has listed Tina Turner, Mick Jagger, and Sade as vocal influences – an intriguing mix that hints at a thrilling future for the band. You can hear some of the retro feel and genre-blurring excitement of the Alabama Shakes in the group’s singles so it’s no surprise Brittany Howard already counts herself as a fan. Fans are already impatiently awaiting the band’s first album, Black Noise, to be released later this year.
