Pioneers of the new wave genre, Blondie started as a punk rock band in the underground scene of New York in the 70s and beyond. Singer and founding member Debbie Harry remained active after the band’s breakup in 1982. By 1997 however, the band had reformed and remains active today. Blondie received both cult and commercial success throughout their decades-long career, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.
