Who They Are: Under a guise of pop, synths and surf, a mix-up she likes to call “schizo drift,” singer-songwriter Caroline Rose tackles all sorts of issues — from being a single mother to fighting the patriarchy. You might not notice this, though, if you got lost in the sense of humor. For instance the cover of her breakout 2018 album LONER features Rose in signature red Adidas track suit, post-workout, with dozens of cigarettes in her mouth, ready to light up. Spoiler alert: She doesn’t smoke. She was named a WXPN Artist to Watch in May of 2018, and played NON-COMM as well as XPoNential Music Festival that year.
