Where They’re From: Harrisonburg, VA

Who They Are: Jeff Gorman and Jake Cochran – aka Illiterate Light — hail from from Harrisonburg, Virginia, an hour outside of Charlottesville. The duo met at college where they bonded over their shared love of music, organic farming, and bicycling. They signed to a major label, Atlantic Records, in 2019, after several high profile and acclaimed high energy sets at the Newport Folk Festival and Bonnaroo. They released their self-titled album, a collection of upbeat, joy-inducing rock and roll songs, and were named an XPN Artist to Watch in November of 2019.
