LCD Soundsystem
Where They’re From: Brooklyn, NY
Who They Are: Fronted by James Murphy, co-founder of DFA Records, LCD fall into a musical continuum of electronic dance-rock. After building a strong international following with songs like “Losing My Edge,” “Daft Punk Is Playing In My House, “All My Friends,” and “Dance Yrself Clean,” and their infectiously dance-y live performances, they announced they would be playing their final show at Madison Square Garden in April, 2011. Their hiatus was mourned by their loyal fans, and in 2015 the band announced they would regroup to perform at festivals including their first post-break up show at Coachella in 2016. The album American Dream followed in 2017, and a 20 show residency at Brooklyn Steel in 2021.
