Where They’re From: Cincinnati, OH

Who They Are: Brittney Parks, who performs as Sudan Archives, is a violinist, singer, songwriter and producer who debuted in 2020 with the album Athena, after releasing two critically acclaimed EPs. Parks grew up in Cincinnati, and started playing violin in 4th grade. She moved to Los Angeles where she currently lives and is influenced by R&B, hop-hop, Sudanese fiddle and electronic music. Parks showcases a singular musical vision, bringing together diverse musical genres with midtempo beats, layered harmonies and sophisticated melodies. She was named an XPN Artist to Watch in December of 2019.
