Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)
Donors may recommend or direct gifts to WXPN via UPenn through donor-advised funds or private foundations. When requesting that your DAF disperse a gift to WXPN, you will need to provide your financial institution with the following information:
- UPenn’s Tax ID/EIN: 23-1352685
- Payable to: “The Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania”
- Designated to: WXPN
Because the donor receives an immediate tax benefit when funds are given to their DAF, donors may not be eligible to receive all member benefits or gifts in return for recommending/directing their DAF to disperse funds. Donors cannot receive any member benefits or gifts that would reduce the tax-deductible value of the gift, since they have already received a tax deduction for the full value. Please contact your financial institution or advisor, if you have any other questions about your DAF.
Matching Gifts
Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees. Matching gifts from donor’s employers can double or triple the size of a gift and are an important source of support for WXPN. Click here to find out if your company has a matching gift policy. If your employer is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send the completed form with instructions to direct the funds to WXPN to:
