Richard Thompson‘s legendary rock and roll roots date back to the ’60s, when he co-founded Fairport Convention. His World Cafe roots don’t date back that far, but they are still significant.

This show had been on the air for less than a year when Thompson made his first of many appearances back in 1992. It feels appropriate then that, as World Cafe has evolved, so has Thompson. He’s gone from bandleader to solo artist, endlessly innovating his guitar playing.

In this session, Thompson treats us to a solo set where you get to appreciate what makes him a one-of-a-kind performer.
