In 2025, WXPN twice hosted Vinyl Day when we shut off all the computers and CD players to go all vinyl on the radio — playing all music from our turntables in the WXPN studio. We also introduced the award-winning (not really) vinyl cam, with live video coverage of turntables spinning, hosts cuing up records, and digging through crates.

On Thursday, we’re doing it again.

You’ll hear the hosts you know and love — Kristen Kurtis, Mike Vasilikos, Dan Reed, Eric Schuman, Robert Drake, Amber Miller, and Jim McGuinn — going fully analog. We’re also expanding Vinyl Day to 24 hours this time around, with Stars End’s Chuck Van Zyl kicking us off with an out-of-this-world overnight session starting from midnight to 6 a.m. Thursday.

Some special guests will be stopping by, as well. Team members from our marketing, engineering, underwriting grant writing, web, and other in-house departments will join hosts throughout the day to play some of their favorite records, giving you an insight into the people behind the folks you normally hear on air. Additionally, a Vinyl Club member and listener and some musical guests are set to join us.

The full programming schedule for Vinyl Day is still in the works, and we will update this page once we have the details set.

Be sure to tune in to 88.5, or stream the broadcast on our website here or the WXPN app, Thursday to get an entire day of warm vinyl sounds.
