Out today: Saturn Never Sleeps’ (King Britt and Rucyl) debut album, Yesterday’s Machine
One of Philly’s finest King Britt has teamed with singer/artist Rucyl for a new album, released today, called Yesterday’s Machine. Working as Saturn Never Sleeps, Britt and Rucyl have been collaborating for the last couple years beginning with an improvisational performance dedicated to the music of Sun Ra. They’ve continued to record and tour together and the fruits of their musical labor is a wonderful new collection of songs that blends ambient, electronica grooves and ethereal jams that brings to mind the sounds of Sade and Massive Attack. Listen to the album below and check out the video for the song “Grace.” You can download the album for free in exchange for your e-mail address or support the music and purchase it here. And mark your calendars: Saturn Never Sleeps perform on Tuesday, August 30th at Silk City.
