It’s obvious that Scattered TreesSympathy is an album that was as therapeutic for the artists to record as it is for listeners to experience. Comprised of five childhood friends from Chicago, the group was reunited by the death of lead singer Nate Eiseland’s father. Their debut LP was released in April and deals with the tragedy through nine harmony-filled tracks. The listener feels Eiseland’s grief throughout; the songs are emotive and honest. This is the band’s first co-headlining tour, following a performance at SXSW and an opening stint for Asobi Sesku. Scattered Trees perform with The Alternate Routes and Paul Dempsey at Kung Fu Necktie at 8:00 p.m.; tickets to the 21+ show are $10.
