Key Studio Sessions Sneak Preview: Lushlife

Earlier this month, Raj Haldar – the MC and producer behind buzzing Philadelphia hip-hop act Lushlife – stopped by our studio and recorded an impressive performance for The Key Studio Sessions. The entire set will be released next month, but today we’re giving you a sneak preview with “Meridian Sound Part 3.” The song deconstructs a pair of vocal lines from “I Just Wasn’t Made for These Times” by The Beach Boys, and reinterprets them as a hook. Paired with a signature Phil Spector beat, it lends the track total Wall of Sound overtones – something Haldar says he was excited to incorporate into hip-hop.
