Singer-songwriter Heyward Howkins—co-founder of The Silver Ages, and once the lead guitar player in The Trouble With Sweeney (fronted by Joe E. Sweeney of Philebrity.com)—is releasing his solo album, The Hale & Hearty, on June 26th. A charming eclecticism pervades this collection of indie-folk and stripped-down baroque sounding pop. Below, listen to two songs from Howkins and watch the debut video for the song “Sugar Sand Stitched Lip” directed by Tyler Costill and Alex Curro from Bands In The Backyard. Howkins performs at Fergies on Wednesday, April 18 as part of the Philebrity Showcase with Juliet Hope Wayne.
