The Soft Pack

The Soft Pack are an indie rock foursome from Los Angeles. They are releasing their new album, Strapped next Tuesday on Mexican Summer Records. Odenkirk is best known for his acting/comedy/writing in Mr. Show, his role in The Larry Sanders Show as Sanders’ agent Stevie Grant, and more recently as the lovable and loathful corrupt lawyer in Breaking Bad, Saul Goodman. Odenkirk is in rare form in this video, in which he plays music reviewer Hal Clapp interviewing The Soft Pack. It’s classic Odenkirk; unpredictable, borderline surreal, and funny in a far fetched satirical yet believable manner. It’s so good, Odenkirk’s performance may overshadow that of the music on this new Soft Pack album, which picks up where their 2010 self-titled album left off; with crunchy, catchy, guitar driven pop nuggets. The Soft Pack play Kung Fu Necktie on Friday, October 5th. Go here for tickets and more information about the show.
