New Music Video: “Twin Sized Mattress” by The Front Bottoms (playing World Cafe Live in July)

Jersey indie rockers The Front Bottoms aren’t regressing, per se – they’re just moving literally backwards in the music video for their new single “Twin Sized Mattress.” Compiled from footage of the band on tour shot in glorious black and white, it plays each scene in reverse, from rocking the stage at night to loading up the van in the morning. At some points, the backwards-forwards thing is so subtle, it almost seems like the same motion – which raises all kinds of existential / philosophical questions I haven’t thought about since seeing Inception in theaters a few years back. “Twin Sized Mattress” comes from The Front Bottom’s new full-length, Talon of the Hawk, which gets released on Bar / None Records on May 21st.
