The Gershman Y has announced the first Philadelphia Jewish Music Festival May 1 – May 9. The lineup features a diverse selection of musicians including: blues artist Saul Kaye; singer-songwriter Julie Lipson will perform an evening of chants and meditative singing; indie folk and worldbeat with Chana Rothman; and a show with Michael Feinstein. Another presentation in the series includes Up All Night with legendary FM radio DJ Carol Miller (who some of you may remember from her days on WMMR). Shows will be taking place at various venues around the city including the Gershman Y, World Cafe Live, The Rotunda, The Free Library and the National Museum of American Jewish History.
