The Staves, a trio of sisters from the U.K. who have been selling out their headlining gigs left and right this year, just released their new Facing West EP in the U.K., following up their 2012 worldwide full-length Dead & Born & Grown.  With delicate harmonies and gentle background murmurs, The Staves’ quiet folk music is focused on storytelling and connecting emotionally, though EP single and title track “Facing West” (also available on the LP) is happier in mood and tone (if not in message) than most of their songs, with a ukelele melody and playful whistling.  Tickets and information for their show at Johnny Brenda’s on May 15th with Escondido can be found here.  Watch the video for “Facing West” below.
