Listen to Austra’s new album Olympia (playing Union Transfer on 9/20)

With the release of their sophomore album Olympia just a few weeks away, Canadian gothic / dance band Austra are streaming the record in full at Exclaim.ca. Last week they released the new single  “Painful Like,” which followed lead single “Home” with Katie Stelmanis’ operatic voice once again musing on the trickiness of love and growing up.  Though the album has an electronic feel to it, the band opted to mirror the authentic and honest nature of the lyrics by using only real instruments and staying away from programming and loops.  Austra will perform at Union Transfer on September 20th with Diana; tickets and information can be found here.  Listen to “Painful Like” below, revisit the video for “Home” here and stream the album here.
