Philly’s September Call-Up releasing full-length debut, playing World Cafe Live later in June
Philly’s September Call-Up, the primary force of folk singer/songwriter, Christian Bitto, is gearing up to release its full-length debut, Air And My Sleep, on June 25th via Wissahickon Records. The record is currently available for streaming, as well as pre-order, at Wissahickon’s website, and at Bitto’s bandcamp.
Bitto first began releasing music in 2012, when he put The September Call-Up EP out, with the help of recording engineer/multi-instrumentalist Jesse Gimbel (with whom he still collaborates). Vinyl Mag refers to Bitto as “a Renaissance Man of vocals, a jack-of-all-moods, you might say” and mentions his ability to switch “constantly and effortlessly from a soft, near whisper to a powerful shout, before retreating back into a passionate warble.”
The singer is gearing up for two shows in Philly, both on June 21st, the first of which will be held at World Cafe Live‘s upstairs stage, the second, at the Fleisher Art Memorial. Tickets and information for those shows can be found here.
