On the occasion of its first new music in 28 years, the reformed Black Flag played Union Transfer on Monday night. One version of the proto-punk legends, anyway, and in the eyes of some, the more legit version since it included founding member, guitarist and songwriter Greg Ginn along with early vocalist Ron Reyes. (Non-sticklers – Keith Morris’ Flag plays The Trocadero on September 18th and tickets are available here.) The sold-out crowd also thrashed to opening sets by Good for You, Ginn’s collaboration with Jersey pro skateboarder Mike Vallely, and the Hoboken band True Love. Check out scenes from the show in the gallery below.
