Although it might not seem so after your first listen, Philly locals The Cloth are pretty difficult to categorize into one genre. Their noisy, hardcore punk sound is accompanied by unexpectedly slower, often screaming vocals and guitar riffs that are part drone-y but also borderline metal. We introduced you to the grungy trio a few months ago, but we now have some updates: they still rock quite hard, they’re releasing some new music this week (according to their Facebook page), and they’re playing a handful of shows around the area in the next two months. You can catch them upstairs at the Kung Fu Necktie on June 28th, playing a stacked show alongside locals APE!, Special People, Church, and Faking. Check out two tunes by The Cloth and keep your eyes peeled for new music on their Bandcamp soon. And under that find a list of their other area tour stops.
