Last Friday, Wilco kicked off summer with an appearance at the Solid Sound Festival at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Arts that included a lively all-covers set that’s already made its way onto the iPods of many fans care of NYC Taper. We’ve already told you about their cover of Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky”; the full set also includes Thin Lizzy’s “The Boys are Back In Town,” ABBA’s “Waterloo,” The Modern Lovers’ “Roadrunner” performed with Yo La Tengo, The Replacements’ “Color Me Impressed” performed with The Replacements’ Tommy Stinson, and a whole lot more. In short, it’s awesome, and you can listen to a couple tracks below, and download the entire thing here.
In addition, The Key’s contributing photographer Noah Silvestry made the trip to check out the festival with his camera in tow and brought back some great visuals; check out a gallery of his coverage below, and get amped to see Wilco next month when the XPoNential Music Festival and the Americanarama tour combine forces. Tickets are available here.
