Local four-piece Black Dirty have been playing together for about a year, and they just released their first EP Dirty Water last week. They say they like to keep their music technically interesting but “accessible” as well, and you can tell by listening to their EP. It’s part twinkly emo, part well-crafted guitar melodies; the alt-rock band seems to draw influences from The Dismemberment Plan, as well as perhaps some Circa Survive. Black Dirty will be playing with Bulletproof Tiger at the North Star Bar on August 21st. Below, check out their four-song EP.
