The Ardmore Music Hall to open at historic 23 East Cabaret location this fall

A stage that has held The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Phish, The Hooters and Joan Osborne begins a new life in September when the former 23 East Cabaret reopens as The Ardmore Music Hall.

Folks at Bonfire Booking, Point Entertainment and the venue (currently Brownies 23 East) have joined forces to reinvigorate the historic space with technological upgrades, an improved spectator experience and an eclectic show schedule, topped off with a diverse run of craft beers.

Supporters of the Lancaster Ave. venue hope its intimate feel (total capacity is 600 but the space will be set up for 250) and location will fill a void left by The Point’s closing in 2005.  From Richard Kardon of Point Entertainment:

One of the things that we’re most excited about is that we know that the audience is there.  Since The Point closed in June 2005, we regularly get emails asking when we’re going to open a new room. Currently, folks on the Main Line have to drive 30-45 minutes to see great live music; now it’ll be in their backyard.

The Ardmore Music Hall opens this fall, with currently scheduled shows including Johnny Winter, The Clarks and Steep Canyon Rangers.  More information can be found on the venue’s Facebook page here.
