Download “Officer” by new Delicate Steve side project Saint Rich (playing the First Unitarian Church on 10/7)

In a serendipitous turn of events, a torrential downpour in northern New Jersey turned a scheduled Delicate Steve full-band practice into the inaugural jam session of Saint Rich, a new collaboration from Delicate Steve guitarists Steve Marion and Christian Peslak.  Flooding prevented the rest of the instrumental outfit from reaching Marion’s house so the two bandmates carried on, writing seven songs in two days with Marion on drums and Peslak on guitar and vocals.  The resulting LP called Beyond the Drone will be Saint Rich’s debut effort, set for release via Merge Records on October 1st.  The album’s first single “Officer” previews a record with searing guitar melodies, laidback vocals and a country twang.  The track is available as a free download on Saint Rich’s Bandcamp and the band will be in town on October 7th to open for Wild Belle at the First Unitarian Church.  Tickets and information can be found here.
