XPoNential Fest: Erin McKeown sends a positive message at the River Stage
Today Erin McKeown made her third XPoNential Music Festival appearance playing the River Stage. The XPN favorite was accompanied by a drummer and a saxophonist under the group name of The Fine Parade. And the trio made sure to get a message across as they performed their jazzy, old school rock : there should be justice and equality for all. “The Jailor” and “Politician” brought this consciousness to light while introducing McKeown’s soulful vocals and her twangy guitar. After the popular “Black Birds,” the singer slowed things down and switched to the keyboard for a more bluesy vibe. And she ended the set on an upbeat note with the title song from her latest release, reminding the audience to accept and love. “This is the best place to come in the whole country!” Her most recent album, Manifestra, was released this past January. See photos of the performance in the gallery below, read the setlist after the jump, and listen to the set in its entirety here (via the WXPN media player).
