Listen to the new EP by Mutlu, The Dream Book (XPN Welcomes to World Cafe Live on October 18th)
Soulful singer-songwriter Mutlu has just released a new EP, The Dream Book. The Philly based musician of Turkish descent plays a mix of soul, reggae, world music and folk, all tied together in the singer-songwriter tradition. Produced by Rob Hyman (of The Hooters) and legendary producer Rick Chertoff, the EP features contributions from Hyman on keyboards and melodica. Eric Bazilian (The Hooters) on guitar, mandola and saxophone, Fred Berman (who performs with Amos Lee) on drums, Steve Butler (Smash Palace) on guitar and William Wittman on bass and guitar. Those familiar with Mutlu have likely seen him perform with Amos Lee as a member of his band over the years, and he recently opened for Hall & Oates at the Tower. On his own, Mutlu is an explosive singer and charismatic performer and his new EP excellently captures all his musical flavors. Stream the collection below. Purchase it here. XPN Welcomes Mutlu to World Cafe Live on Friday, October 18th. Go here for tickets.
