Check out Folkadelphia’s autumn concert schedule featuring Time & Temperature, Bad Braids, Vandaveer and more
Continuing a season full of intriguing and eclectic line-ups, Folkadelphia will present its next show at The Random Tea Room & Curiosity Shop on October 15th. This event brings Ohio-born / Minneapolis based singer-songwriter Time & Temperature (Val Glenn) to town, hosting the Philly date of Glenn’s month-long east coast tour. The quietly-plucked strings and meditative voice on the tape’s second track “Forgive” are instantly comforting and familiar, and yet hauntingly otherworldly and breathtaking. The song will be available on an eponymous, limited edition cassette, available at Time & Temperature shows during the current tour. You can also listen to and download a live recording from Glenn’s recent Minneapolis show here (more info on the Facebook event page).
The series continues on Tuesday, October 6th, when Folkadelphia brings Bad Braids, Alameda and Ben Seretan to the Green Line Cafe on Locust. Bad Braids released their first full-length record Supreme Parallel this past Spring – check out a review that was featured in the album’s Unlocked profile here and download “Ships” from their October 2012 Key Studio Session below (info here).
Heading back to the Tea Room on October 25th, Spirit & Dust‘s Kristen Sylvester joins singer-songwriters Andrea Tomasi and Johanna Warren. Though Spirit & Dust is a large collective of Philadelphia friends and musicians, Sylvester will perform her story songs solo for this intimate show. Listen back to her band’s Folkadelphia Session below, recorded earlier this year (info here).
Coming next month:
Fursaxa, Sondra Sun-Odeon and Orion Rigel Dommisse at Highwire Gallery on November 17th (info here)
Vandaveer, Aisha Burns, Joshua Park at Studio 34 on November 18th (info here)
