Vacationer remixes San Fermin’s “Sonsick” (playing Boot & Saddle on 10/25)
Brooklyn baroque-pop group San Fermin enlisted Philly’s electro pop / chillwave act Vacationer to remix their hit “Sonsick.” The remix was premiered by Esquire, who talked with San Fermin founder and composer Ellis Ludwig-Leone about the song:
‘I’ve heard a lot of people refer to it as a ‘summer jam,’ says Ludwig-Leone, ‘but for me it’s a song about anxiety, so it’s surprising when people say it makes them feel good…. I’ve said before that the original feels like a panic attack at a birthday party… but the remix turns it into a paranoid trip in a club in midtown.’
San Fermin play a free show at Boot & Saddle on October 25th with Literature and Panic Years; more information can be found here. Listen to the remix below, followed by the original video for “Sonsick,” and check out a review from the band’s July appearance at World Cafe Live here.
