Fresh off a Saturday night slot at the SoFAR Philly showcase, chamber-pop five-piece Turning Violet Violet are back with a new single today – which is also evidently also its swan song. “Cherry Blossom” is the first new music from the band since it released its Double Cure LP in spring of 2012, and is playful and progressive, with a fantastic violin solo at the end by Sarah Jean Pisano…but on the Bandcamp page for the track, it’s simply states “Our final single. Come get it.”

We checked in with drummer Brandon Gulish, who tells us that the band’s November 7th show at Boot and Saddle is the band’s last headlining gig for the forseeable future. “Each band member is (for at least the time being) going to be focusing energy on other projects.” While its sad to see TVV go, they’re an eclectic and talented crew, so any new music that sprouts in their wake will be undeniably solid.
