Rob, Lately goes garage rock on their new EP The Liar
Photo via roblately.bandcamp.comLocal rockers Rob, Lately have released their new EP, The Liar on Death To False Hope Records. The band ventured into garage rock territory on this outing, a marked difference from their pop-rock 2008 debut album, Tiny Heart and last year’s Haunts. The evolved sound (which is reminiscent of The Replacements and Elvis Costello) further showcases their gift for melody both lyrically and instrumentally. Check out the new song “Hands” below and listen to the full EP here. You can also watch Rob, Lately play their ode to delayed text messaging responses, “Look Aloof”, below – and catch the band in concert on Monday, October 28th at Teri’s in South Philly; information can be found at the show’s Facebook event page.
