The 6th Annual The Israeli JazzPhest is happening November 8-16 at area venues around Philadelphia including the International House, World Cafe Live, Ortlieb’s, the Painted Bride Arts Center, and Chris’s Jazz Cafe. The festival features both established and emerging Israeli musicians who fuse Jazz with classical and world music. Some of the highlights include female trombonist and composer Reut Regev, trumpeter Itamar Borochov, flutist Mattan Klein and the Latin flavored flutist Itai Kriss. The festival also features the Ethiopian born and Israeli raised Ayala Ingedeshet in a free concert (RSVP required) at the International House on November 18th. Influenced by Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill, Ingedeshet’s concert is her North American debut. Go here for more information, tickets and performances.
