The Indie Rock Hit Parade Live Sessions: Swearin’
In November, indie rock four-piece Swearin’ released its sophomore album Surfing Strange and embarked on a somewhat epic tour in support of it. The month before, the band had just done a month across Europe. We caught them just in between the two, and when they came by WXPN to record for the Indie Rock Hit Parade, they showed the precision and tightness of a band that had been on the road for a long while, matched with the fire of a band that was still fresh enough into the game that they were going to go right back out and blow away crowds again.
The next time Swearin’ rolls through Philly will be New Year’s Eve for a show at Johnny Brenda’s with Screaming Females and Batty. If it has an ounce of riled-up vibe you hear in the recordings below, it’ll be a tremendous show, though we suspect it will have several more ounces; tickets and information can be found here.
