Tonight: What You’ll Hear On Folkadelphia Radio
Every Wednesday from 10-11 PM on WXPN, Folkadelphia Radio with Fred Knittel explores the world of folk, Americana, country, and more, old and new, ranging from the fringe to the familiar to the freaky and everything in between. They also premiere an excerpt from a new Folkadelphia Session, an in-studio recording featuring musicians in their live element.
This week, Folkadelphia will be showcasing a session with T. Hardy Morris, a musician best known for his work with the rock outfit Dead Confederate and Diamond Rugs, a supergroup featuring members of Deer Tick, The Black Lips and Los Lobos. Last year, Morris released his first solo album, Auditions Tapes, a mostly live affair that spotlights his adept songwriting skills.

During the radio show, we’ll also hear from The Lowest Pair, a new collaboration between banjoists Kendl Winter and Palmer T. Lee, who are gearing up to release their debut album 36¢ through Team Love Records. The songs are unhurried, intimate, and steeped in emotion; at times, they recall the powerhouse duo of Gillian Welch and David Rawlings.
