Download two new songs from Bird Watcher, see them at Johnny Brenda’s on 4/12
Bird Watcher, a local duo comprised of singer / songwriter (and new host of Sleepy Hollow) Julian Booker and producer Jesse Soifer, are bringing their indie rock / alternative Americana to Johnny Brenda’s on April 12th.
Over the course of the last year the band has released four singles, most recently “All You Suburban Mothers, I Depart Thee!” and “Okeh 03651.” Keeping in step with the personal nature of the first two tracks, the new singles center in part around Booker’s travels during the summer of 2012 (“All You Suburban Mothers…”) and his affinity for both mid-twentieth century blues music and the Philadelphia Phillies (“Okeh 02651”). Joined by a backing band of friends, the Bird Watcher recordings are an aural anthology for specific events and formational encounters in Booker’s life, mapping out the many parts that make a whole.
Stream and download the two songs below and stay tuned for a full-length coming later this summer. Tickets and information for the 21+ show with Canon Logic can be found here.
