Download The End of America’s cover of “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” by The Band
Americana trio The End of America have released a cover of “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down,” originally recorded by The Band. It’s Philadelphia’s first introduction to the outfit, which recently relocated from New York City. In addition to the cover, the trio has released two full-length albums since starting out in 2010. On their original material, The End of America strikes a balance between The Last Bison, Dry the River and Good Old War – focused on harmonies and melancholy melodies with an eye towards Laurel Canyon-esque instrumentation. Listen to “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” below, followed by the title track from their 2013 LP Shakey. You can catch The End of America at Boot & Saddle on Thursday, June 12th when they open for Simone Felice. Tickets and information can be found here.
