Strand of Oaks debuts a 60 Minutes styled video for “Shut In”
Philly’s Strand Of Oaks (Timothy Showalter) debuted a new video for “Shut In,” a song from his new albun, HEAL, out on Tuesday, June 24th. Strand of Oaks is WXPN’s Artist To Watch this month, and we got our first taste of his new album when he performed material from it last month at XPN’s Non-COMMvention.
The video is a take off on 60 Minutes, featuring Philip Grant, a volunteer radio Morning Show host from a Hudson, New York community station – WGXC – who plays “Seymour Freshwater.” “A hermit’s life is one shrouded in secrecy,” proclaims Freshwater, as he proceeds to “interview” Showalter.
Strand of Oaks is playing XPN’s Free At Noon on Friday, June 27th and a proper show at Boot & Saddle on Friday, September 19th. Go here for tickets and information about the show.
