Philly electro pop band Bondage & Discipline, formerly known as The National Rifle, recently released their second single, “Confession”. In March, the band released their debut single “Only Your Love.” While that had a dark and romantic edge, “Confession” is more noticeably intense.

A track from the band’s upcoming LP due Spring 2015, “Confession” starts off with a spaced out intro before warping into an expansive, rhythmic love ballad. “Confession” is more serious, a contemplation of the heavier side of love, commitment and death. In fact, the song was written in a very serious and tragic atmosphere. The song was penned by B&D’s Hugh Morretta in an attempt to connect with a friend whose family member recently committed suicide. Right before the recording process, Morretta himself was hospitalized with a life-threatening conditions. This type of serious atmosphere, paired with the fantastic vocals and instrumentals, make this a strong second single. Listen to “Confessions” below.
