Listen to the title track from The Stray Birds’ Best Medicine
Lancaster folk trio The Stray Birds continue blending the traditional and pop worlds on their latest song, “Best Medicine,” the title track from the album the band will release on October 21st via Yep Roc Records. The delicately picked acoustic guitar blends wonderfully with Maya de Vitry’s vocals on the opening, a haunting blend reminiscent of Alison Krauss and Nickel Creek. The full band kicks in on the refrain, guitarist Oliver Craven and bassist Charles Meunch vocal harmonies enter from the sides, and while the sound is very classically roots / country in tone, as they sing “that’s why music is the best medicine of all,” there’s an undeniable sense of hookiness too. Check out the song below. The Stray Birds celebrates the release of Best Medicine on Thursday, October 23rd at World Cafe Live; tickets and more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
