Delta Spirit return with a new album, Into The Wide, on Tuesday, September 9th. WXPN Welcomes them to Union Transfer on Saturday, October 4th, with Philly’s Peter Matthew Bauer opening the show.

Into The Wide is Delta Spirit’s fourth album, and was recorded at Maze Studios in Atlanta. Originally formed in San Diego, the band is fronted by vocalist/guitarist Matt Vasquez, and includes multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Kelly Winrich, guitarist Will McLaren, bassist Jon Jameson, and drummer Brandon Young. The new album finds the band evolving towards a more tougher and soaring sound than on their previous releases. Songs like “For My Enemy,” “Language Of The Dead,” and the album’s first single “From Now On,” capture the best of the band’s musical evolution. Throughout the album, Delta Spirit carry the momentum as the songs ebb and flow from momentous rockers to quieter moments like “The Wreck,” a stark piano ballad, the contemplative “Hold My End Up,” and the slow building, anthemic “Take Shelter.”
