Singer-songwriter Hozier took to the BBC Live Lounge, performing his hit song, “Take Me To Church,” along with a cover of the Arctic Monkeys’ “Do I Wanna Know?” With two EP’s to his name, Hozier is releasing his self-titled debut on October 7th, and is playing a sold out show at the Trocadero on Saturday, October 1st.

The Irish singer-songwriter was born in County Wicklow near Dublin on St. Patrick’s Day and first released the soulful, powerful, gospel tinged “Take Me To Church” for free on his website. Hozier was recently on World Cafe, and features live performances of “Like Real People Do,” “Angel Of Small Death & The Codeine Scene,” “From Eden,” and “Take Me To Church.” Listen to the session here. Below, listen to Hozier’s tender, soulful take on the Arctic Monkeys’ muscular hit song.
